Free Electrical Estimates

We are more than happy to provide you with a free estimate, at any time. In addition to our free over-the-phone consultation, we are able to provide free estimates for the majority of the electrical work we do.

Why do we give free estimates?

Many electricians simply will not give estimates over the phone, for free. They require a technician to go to your home and charge you for the trip and their estimate. This amount is often removed from the bill if you choose them for the job.

Operating in such a manner puts undue pressure on you to choose their company, and oftentimes, may prevent you from getting the work you need done at the most reasonable price available.  We choose to operate very differently.

We believe that by offering you a free estimate, we provide the fairest competition for the job based on our experience, reasonable rates and respectful attitude.

What can I get a free estimate for?

We can give free over-the-phone estimates for most new installation jobs, including:

  • Ceiling fan installations
  • Chargers for electric cars
  • Air conditioner hook-ups
  • House rewires
  • Light fixture installation
  • Panel upgrades
  • Anything else that involves the installation of new electrical components

In the case of a broken component or electrical issue, we need to have an electrician examine and troubleshoot the problem. Because of this, we cannot give free estimates over the phone for these jobs.

Are you able to give estimates for big jobs such as house rewires or electrical panel upgrades?

We will start by asking you a few questions about your home and other necessary information. After we get this information, we can give you a basic estimate of the total cost over the phone. If you decide to move forward with the job, an electrician will come to your home or business to provide you with a firm, written bid. If you accept our bid we will work to schedule the job with you.

Can you estimate the cost of installing an electric vehicle charger?

Absolutely. EV charger installation starts around $200 and goes up from there, depending on the work that is required. We need to know the distance from your garage to the electrical panel, as well as other details to help us better understand your situation. If you are interested in having this done, we will send someone out to survey the job. He will check your panel to ensure that it can handle the additional load and determine the best location for your charger. Once all these steps are taken, our technician can give you a written bid for the entire job.

When are you not able to give a free estimate?

When something is broken or not working properly, we typically need to send someone out to do some electrical troubleshooting, use all of the necessary tools and check out the problem. As a result, we must charge for the time. Our electricians are normally able to either fix the problem or provide you with a written bid for the completion of the job within the first thirty minutes to an hour.

In many cases, our electrician is very close to fixing the problem by the time he figures out what is wrong. If he finds a loose wire, for example, it only takes another couple minutes to finish fixing it.

Why won’t you give estimates over the phone when troubleshooting is required?

Because of the complexity of electrical systems, there may be many underlying issues at any given time where there is an electrical problem. If your landscape lighting is no longer working, for example, it could be the result of a bad connection at the outlet. To fix this, the electrician will simplu repair or replace the connection. However, he could discover that the problem is in the wiring that is underground. This requires much more equipment and more time. Because we never know how deep a problem may go, we do not provide estimates for troubleshooting jobs.

Unfortunately, electrical symptoms say very little about what is actually causing them. After we have been troubleshooting for half an hour to an hour, we will provide you with the cause, as well as a firm bid for completion of the job.

What is an estimate? What is a bid?

Free estimates can be provided for the installation of new electrical equipment such as a new outlet. If this works for you, we will schedule a time to come out and complete the work. After we have looked at the work to be done, we will then provide you with a firm, written bid for completion. This bid is a firm price that will not change.
